People treat you better when you hold a camera
Two weeks ago, I walked into a shop to look at running shoes. It was empty. The whole staff stared at me, and it felt like they didn’t want me there. When my wife asked about a specific model, they looked down at her and dismissed the question in a sassy way. Yesterday, I walked into the same shop, but this time with a camera in my hand. As soon as we entered, the lady at the counter waved with a big smile. We asked if they had the shoes, and she brought us to her colleague, who did his best to make sure the models fit. The staff even waited for us at the door, smiling, “안녕히 가세요 👋” Since I started filming YouTube videos in public, I’ve noticed people show their best side when they see a professional camera. They ask questions, and when I say it’s for YouTube, their eyes light up. Sometimes we skip lines, sometimes we get freebies, and most of the time, we just get smiles Try it. You don’t even need to record; just hold the camera.
