I turned 33 and it was the best year of my life
I turned 33 today. It was the best year of my life. Everything aligned: work, fitness, and my personal life. 2023 was amazing too. I’ll never forget the small success of my first startup, ShipFast, after seven years of shouting into the void. But I was afraid of losing momentum. What if I’d just been lucky? What if I couldn’t do it again? In 2024 and 2025, I was fighting that fear. I didn’t enjoy taking time off because I was afraid my worries would come true. Toward the end of 2025, something shifted. I started enjoying life more. I didn’t do anything to make it happen; it just came naturally. I guess that’s a human thing. I also doubled down on fitness, and the results are paying off now. Now I’m at peace. My brain isn’t racing in the middle of the night, thinking about my next project. I’m not worried about AI taking over all my startups. I’m just having fun. I work on whatever sparks my curiosity. I go to the gym and sometimes stay for three hours. I play video games. I don’t want anything. And I’ve realized that happiness is peace of mind. I don’t want much more than this: more years like this, and maybe, one day, kids.
