AI makes overthinking 10x worse
Nobody talks about this side of AI. I think it's making life 10x worse for people who tend to overthink. You can now go down a rabbit hole that would never have existed without AI. Example: You’re worried about a small injury. You ask AI. It gives you 5 things to watch out for. So you ask about those 5 things. It gives you 10 more. You ask about those too. And every answer gives you another reason to keep digging. It never ends because AI never runs out of answers. And because it sounds like it knows everything, evry answer feels important. Every new possibility feels like something you should worry about. It reminds me of social media in the 2010s. At first, it was something that connected everyone. It took years to understand that it could also make people feel more lonely. AI is just starting to reach everyone, and I see people getting anxious because of a conversation they had with ChatGPT. I think we’ll discover a lot of side effects like this over the next decade.
